Onglet is also known as Hanger steak, and is taken from the lower belly, near the diaphragm.

Pronounced 'on-glay' it is gaining in popularity due to it's low cost and deep flavour.

It has an intense, rich taste, and is very widely-used in France where it is the steak of choice in 'steak frites'.

Onglet has a distinctive grain to the meat, and can be chewy if overcooked. To avoid this, fry quickly in a hot pan until medium-rare.

Tip: This 2kg piece of onglet can be cut into pieces of your preferred size. Use some now and freeze some for another time.

Our beef onglet is taken from Scotch free-range grass-fed cattle.

Put into a fridge as soon as possible after delivery, and consume within 5 days or before best before date on packaging

Suitable for home freezing – please freeze on day of delivery and use within 3 months. Defrost fully before cooking.

Onglet can be dry if over-cooked.

Fry quickly in a very hot pan for 2-3 minutes each side until cooked to medium-rare.

Rest in a warm place for 15 minutes before serving.

 

Delivery Information

We use technologically-advanced packaging , which we have put through vigorous testing to ensure your order arrives with you at the correct temperature.

We deliver from Tuesday to Friday, and also on Saturdays for a surcharge. Delivery is charged at £5, with free delivery for all orders of £75.00 and over, except for Saturday deliveries which have a surcharge of £15. Our deliveries are made between 8am and 4pm, and you can choose to have your order delivered to you at home, to your place of work or to another address you choose.
